The Telangana Gram Panchayat Samagra Abhivriddi Pranalika (GP-SAP) Portal is operated by the Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Department, Government of Telangana. This policy explains what information the portal handles and how it is protected, consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

What the portal collects

• Official records: Gram Panchayat profile, planning and progress data entered by authorised GP and departmental users in discharge of official functions.
• Account data: login identifiers of authorised users, hashed passwords, and security metadata (login attempts, session records).
• Audit data: an audit trail of data-entry and administrative actions (who changed what, and when) as required for public accountability.
• Beneficiary-related figures: aggregate and, where the instrument requires, individual-level scheme data (for example pension or SADAREM-linked counts) supplied by the departments concerned.

Purpose limitation

Data is collected solely for the preparation, monitoring and review of Gram Panchayat development plans and progress reporting. It is not used for any other purpose, is not sold, and is not shared with third parties except as required by law or for the discharge of official functions.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Data is encrypted at rest. Access is role-based and restricted to the concerned jurisdiction; every access and change is logged. Passwords are stored only as salted BCrypt hashes.

Retention and correction

Records are retained as government records under applicable retention schedules. Corrections to submitted data follow the portal's review-and-correction workflow through the competent authority.

Cookies

The portal uses only a strictly necessary session cookie (JSESSIONID) for authenticated access, and stores accessibility preferences (text size, contrast) locally in your browser. No analytics, advertising or third-party cookies are used.

Grievances

Questions or grievances regarding personal data on this portal may be raised through the portal's Support helpdesk or addressed to the Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Department, Government of Telangana.
